The Leyton House CG901 was designed by Adrian Newey for Leyton House Racing and competed in the 1990 FIA Formula One World Championship. Powered by the Judd EV 3.5-litre V8 engine and clothed in the team’s unmistakable Miami Blue livery, the CG901 became one of the most recognisable Formula One cars of its generation. The car is especially remembered for the 1990 French Grand Prix, where Ivan Capelli produced a stunning performance, leading much of the race before finishing an outstanding second.
As a race-used component from Capelli’s Leyton House, this piece carries direct provenance to a remarkable period in Formula One engineering, when Newey’s innovative aerodynamic philosophy was beginning to shape the future of Grand Prix design.
The end plate has some race damage to the bottom right corner along with numerous other marks from racing.
