A museum quality artifact from Ferrari’s rich history.
An incredible chance to own an original Ferrari Formula One steering wheel from the 1960’s.
This steering wheel was used by Lorenzo Bandini during the 1966 Formula One season while driving the Ferrari 312. The 312 scored victories in 1966 at Spa and Monza in the hands of John Surtees and Ludovico Scarfiotti respectively. 1966 was to be Bandini’s final full year in Formula One as he was tragically killed during the second round of the Formula One World Championship at Monaco in 1967. 1966 was also a historic year for F1 as it was the backdrop to John Frakenheimer’s classic movie ‘Grand Prix’. The Ferrari 312 and steering wheel is often shown, expecially during the onboard footage around Monza.
The steering wheel was obtained from Sergio Vezzali’s estate. Vezzali was a Ferrari Formula One and Ferrari prototype sportscar racing mechanic from 1958 until 1993. The item is accompanied with a statement from Sergio’s son detailing its history.
Whether you plan to mount this to an original 1960’s Ferrari F1 car, prototype ‘P’ sportscar or display in your home, this will be an incredible addition to any serious collection.
