Best known for his iconic partnership with Stirling Moss during their triumphant 1955 Mille Miglia victory in the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, Jenkinson—affectionately known as “Jenks”—was a pioneering figure in motorsport writing and a revered correspondent for Motor Sport magazine for over 40 years. His innovative use of pace notes during the Mille Miglia remains one of the most celebrated tactics in motorsport history. Along with his Mille Miglia race report which is widely held as the greatest piece of motorsport correspondence.
